Backlogs and Broomsticks

Not much has been posted over the past month, and there's a pretty good reason for that -- I've just been so darned busy! And that, dear readers, is a good thing.

Work's keeping me pretty busy; I've been putting in about 9 hours a day for the past couple of weeks -- nine solid hours of too-busy-to-check-my-work-email juggling projects. At home I've been pretty busy too, but this weekend it finally calmed down. All of the big home projects are done, and the rest is happening at a more leisurely pace.

The new living situation has gone pretty smoothly so far; even the cats are tolerating each other, if not actually getting along! My sleep schedule isn't lining up with Kim's (actually I'm still not sleeping well), but all in all this cohabitation experiment is going well -- I'm not just saying that because Kim's been keeping the house the cleanest it's ever been.

Tonight I sat down and cleaned out about a week's worth of personal email, including yet another job offer. It's funny how they come out of the woodwork right after you start a new job. Kind of like relationships, in my experience. C'est la vie!

I also made some headway into my two month backlog of photos. Four major events and a pile of little things like repeated puppy therapy at the dog park. Every post here has coincided with unclogging a bit of the backlog, but I'm still losing ground. I need a better workflow, but damn, switching everything over will be a PITA.

It's foolish to expect the to-do list to ever clear out, but now that it's finally shrinking for a change, I'm feeling pretty good. But on that note, back to photos!
