Wisdom and madness

_ And I give my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly; I perceived that this is also vexation of the spirit. -- Ecclesiastes _

_ One can only see what one observes, and one observes only things which are already in the mind. -- Alphonese Bertillon _

I've had these quotes in my .plan (and people thought that blogs were something new? Hah!) for some time now. Taken in tandem, the point they raise is interesting -- To know wisdom, we must know madness. What is madness, if not the paradoxes already within us? That slightly unhinged state of being from which creativity flows forth?

I submit madness arises from denial of these paradoxes, and only by accepting them as the truths they are can we ever begin to understand, which in itself is another paradox.

My brain hurts.
