On Hurricane Frances

I did finally get my photos up online, here

Most of them suck. But I guess I never put a damage report up:

• ~100 square feet of shingles
• Foundation seepage in back room, ruined the carpet
• Buckled garage door (fixed with a good kick)
• Laptop bit the dust thanks to being under the ONE spot where the ceiling leaked due to aforementioned roof damage
• Lost one small tree and the rear fence (which was the neighbor's)
• Power out for perhaps an hour during the storm; Water was out for about a day, and cable (==internet) was out for five.

So all in all, I came out fairly well, even in my immediate neighborhood. Helping cleanup was fun. I'll eventually get the photos sorted out better, but they're all there for your perusal. Crystal took nearly all the good ones.

I did the roof repairs myself, and apparently am a decent roofer because it survived two days of heavy rain from the remnants of Ivan. Yay! I'm a little pissed at the original roofers though; the damage is all because they were a little sloppy in their work.

Anyhoo. Time to get some anime in before work. I like mornings.
