Craving kelp

That last bit was pretty incoherent. I blame the hole in my foil helmet. I was pretty wired last night.. finally collapsing around midnight or so after cleaning house for an hour or so.. so much dog hair. It already feels much better.

Lunch today was interesting. I was trying to figure out what it was that my body was telling me.. I knew I wanted something green, but a salad just didn't fit. Nothing seemed to get a positive reaction. Until a single word popped into my head. Kelp. That set the ball rolling. I wanted seaweed, miso soup.

So we trundled off to Siam Orchid, a pretty decent sushi/Thai restaurant. I ordered what amounted to grilled eel on rice, with miso soup and a salad. After sucking down the soup, I started going after the soy sauce until the food arrived. It was a bit strong to handle straight, so I did things like soak the pickled ginger in it first.

After all of that, I feel the best I have in a couple of days. More tired, but much more relaxed. The craving for salt.. or at least, sodium and iodine was satisfied, and I feel thirsty once again. I rarely add salt to things when I cook, and I've been skirting dehydration for a while now.

I've also resumed taking a multivitamin in the morning; that should help a little too, I hope. The banana this morning was also nice. lots of potassium in that one.

I've always noticed that I feel better when eating properly, but it's now seeming that I need to pay a lot more attention to what I'm eating. ...it's no longer sufficient to make sure that I do eat. Not that I've been doing too well on that front either...

Mental note -- Go shopping for veggies after Tai Chi. The iguana needs food. So does the Solomon. I'll supplement the grocery list when I get home.

Meanwhile, the car situation isn't all that bad, though my abused hands beg to differ. I pulled everything out this morning again for a daylight look-see. I think I know which wire has the short in it, and I'll continue to hunt it down this week. There's no real rush as it's not like I had something that worked before I took everything apart. Although the gaping hole in the dash is a little annoying.. Oddly enough, I can't see any evidence of scorching or an indication of where the smoke/burning occurred.
